Ghana Football has reached a significant milestone with the installation and commissioning of state-of-the-art floodlights at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
On April 24, 2024, Ghana Football Association President Kurt E.S. Okraku officially inaugurated the floodlights, symbolizing a new era for football development in Ghana.

The FIFA Forward Program funded the project, with OVI Enschede, a Dutch electrical installations firm, handling the equipment installation.
The technicians guided the GFA President and his team through the operating guidelines, showcasing the seamless functionality of the floodlights.
As the Astroturf shone under the new lights, President Okraku expressed his gratitude to FIFA for their continued support, highlighting the trust and confidence they have in the GFA.
He emphasized the significance of this development, stating, “The installation of this first set of floodlights means that training programs at the Centre can be held both during the day and at night. Our players in camp can train at night and refereeing and coaching training programs can also extend into the evening.”
The GFA President also revealed plans for a 40-bed accommodation facility for national teams and a new Astroturf, supported by BetPawa, nearing completion.
He reiterated his vision to transform the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence into a world-class facility, worthy of Ghana’s footballing talent and history.
Under the newly installed floodlights, a training session with National U-17 players took place, observed by President Okraku and his team. He shared inspiring words with the team, encouraging them to strive for excellence.
The GFA President was accompanied by Michael Osekre, Neil Armstrong-Mortagbe, and Marian Serwaa Mensah. David Alifoe, Deputy Director of the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence, welcomed the delegation and assured the President of proper maintenance for the new floodlights.
