The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has announced the immediate suspension of the operating licence of Evanex Gold Enterprise, a Tier 2 licensed gold buyer, following the outcome of a regulatory investigation.
The decision, effective Thursday, August 28, 2025, stems from findings that Evanex Gold Enterprise engaged in illegal gold pricing practices, in direct violation of the terms and conditions governing its licence.
The investigation was conducted by GoldBod’s Compliance Directorate as part of its ongoing mandate to uphold transparency and accountability in Ghana’s gold trading sector.
“Notice is hereby given to all licensed traders, miners, and the public to desist from trading and/or engaging in any form of gold transaction with Evanex Gold Enterprise forthwith,” the Compliance Directorate stated.
GoldBod has issued a formal directive to all stakeholders including artisanal miners, exporters, and licensed traders to immediately cease any business dealings with Evanex Gold Enterprise. The Board emphasized that failure to comply with this directive may result in further sanctions.
This enforcement action is part of a broader initiative to sanitize the gold trading ecosystem and ensure that all licensed entities operate within the bounds of Ghana’s mineral laws and international best practices.
The Ghana Gold Board Act, 2025 (Act 1140), empowers GoldBod to take decisive action against non-compliant operators and protect the integrity of the sector.
GoldBod remains committed to fostering a fair, transparent, and competitive gold market that benefits all stakeholders and contributes meaningfully to national development.
