Ghana has signed a visa waiver agreement with Antigua and Barbuda on the sidelines of the ongoing United Nations General Assembly.
The agreement was signed by Ghana’s Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, who expressed gratitude to her counterpart, H.E. E.P. Chet Greene, Antigua and Barbuda’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Trade, and Barbuda Affairs, for his role in making the deal possible.
This, according to the minister, marks the 10th visa waiver agreement secured for Ghanaians since the current Foreign Minister assumed office.
According to the Minister, the Mahama-led administration is committed to enhancing the value of the Ghanaian passport, strengthening the country’s image internationally, and improving travel opportunities for citizens.
He added that such agreements are key to boosting trade, tourism, and cultural ties, particularly in this case by deepening connections with the Caribbean.
