The Ghana Highway Authority Senior Staff Association and Workers Union have called off their strike following a directive from the Accra High Court to suspend the industrial action.
The decision comes after the National Labour Commission (NLC) filed an Ex Parte Application to veto the strike.

In a letter signed by Emmanuel Asina, Vice National Chairman of the GHA Senior Staff Association, and Boble Yasroku, National Chairman of the GHA Workers Union (CBMWU-TUC), the association explained that suspending the strike is in line with their duty as law-abiding citizens.
They have instructed their members to return to work starting Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
The association also stated that lawful protocols have been initiated to notify the NLC of their intention to resume the strike if necessary, particularly to press for the suspension of the implementation of the National Roads Authority Act 2024 (Act 1118).
The strike, which began on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, resulted in largely empty offices at the GHA headquarters, with only a few security personnel present.
Security staff confirmed they had turned away visitors due to the ongoing strike.
