Ghana Immigration affirm intensive security at borders

According to information sighted by GhanaTalksRadio, about 37,000 non Ghanaians from Western Frontier, Eastern Frontier and the Northern Frontier have been prevented at various Ghana borders since they were closed by President Akufo-Addo in last year March, due to high rise of Covid 19 cases.

The Controller General at the Ghana Immigration Service, Kwame Asuah Takyi said, because of attacks in neighboring countries, the Immigration is up to the task of ensuring border safety and preventing terrorist from entering the country. 

At a gender sensitization workshop for top managers of Immigration Service, Kwame Asuah Takyi noted that his officers were positioned and continuing to gather intelligence in spite of the porous borders.

He further noted that, Operation Conquering Feast, which consisted of the Military, Police, Immigration, Ambulance and Custom Divisional Services were positioned at various parts of the country.

He added, that Government is doing its best to make sure that these terrorist do not enter the country and it is a shared responsibility for both security personnel and the citizens.
