Ghana National Fire Service investigates Koforidua Klu Town fire outbreak in the Eastern Region

The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has launched investigations into the cause of a fire that broke out at Klu Town, opposite the EP Church in Koforidua, on Sunday, September 14, 2025.

According to the Service, firefighters responded swiftly to a distress call at about 5:30 a.m. and arrived on the scene within five minutes under the command of ADO I Sagoe.

The fire, which had already engulfed the area, destroyed three wooden structures, a metal container, and several valuable items.

However, the crew managed to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading to adjoining buildings.

The fire was brought under control at 6:58 a.m. and fully extinguished by 8:04 a.m. No casualties were recorded.

The GNFS said its prompt intervention salvaged several nearby structures and assured the public that the cause of the outbreak is being investigated.
