Executive Director of Irbard Security Consult, Alhaji Irbard Ibrahim has advised that Ghana and Africa at large adopt Islamic Law or Sharia as its governance system since democracy has failed the African continent.

According to him, democracy is the cause of Africa’s underdevelopment, arguing further that democracy has caused poverty, famine, disease and even war in Africa.

He is therefore clear in his mind that Shari’a Law, mainly sourced from the Qur’an will be a better governance system for Ghana and indeed Africa.

“Democracy has largely failed Africa. The time for us to be looking at possible alternatives is now. When you look at the track record of Islamic Law or Shari’a law right from medieval time to up to this time, we can tell that it is a better governance system than a wishy-wishy one that leaves us with too many troubles,” he emphasized.

He made this known in a Facebook video broadcast christened “My 3rd Address to the Nation” as part expressing his views on national issues.

It aims to help Muslims understand how they should lead every aspect of their lives according to God’s wishes.”
