The Electoral Commission (EC) has reassured stakeholders and the public that the final results of the 2024 general elections will be based solely on the pink sheets signed by political party agents at all 40,650 polling stations nationwide.

The Commission has called for public patience as the collation of results is underway.
Speaking at the National Collation Centre on Sunday, December 8, 2024, the Director of Electoral Services, Benjamin Bano-Bio, explained:
“As you may be aware, polls across the country closed some 15 hours ago. By law, at the close of polls, ballots are counted at the polling stations in the full view of party agents, media, observers, and the public, and then documented on the pink sheets.”
“The Pink Sheets are signed by the presiding officer and all Party Agents present at the polling station. Copies of the pink sheets are given to all Party Agents and one is also posted on the wall of each polling station,” he stated.
The pink sheets determine the final results. As such, for this election, the pink sheets generated from the 40,650 polling stations signed by the presiding officers and party agents will determine the final results. Nothing will change!”
