Legon Cities, still trying to strike a balance as to which part of the table they belong face an upheaval task of welcoming a familiar formidable foe, Medeama SC. Medeama and Aduana Stars both are level on 27 points as they play as guest to their most attractive middle-class host.


Legon Cities after demolishing WAFA by four goals to one at the nation’s football cathedral in match week 13 couldn’t scare their opponents on match week 14 as they were harassed to a two-nil defeat on their visit to the Golden City Park in Berekum to play Chelsea.


Their world class visitor, Medeama Sporting Club piped one-time visitor of Legon Cities by 2 goals to nil at the Akoon Park in midweek in the GPL. That is Techiman Eleven Wonders who drew blank with Legon Cities in match week 12 of the Ghana Premier League.


Legon Cities in their last five matches lost to Berekum Chelsea by two goals to nil away from home, held hostage WAFA at home, beating them by four goals to one. In the other three, they drew blank against Wonders while drawing a goal apiece against King Faisal and Great Olympics.


At home this season, rebranded Wa All Stars lost just one match to a classic giant, Asante Kotoko in their maiden home fixture in the new GPL season. Away from that, it has been equals in terms of wins and draws. They drew three matches while earning three draws as well. That kind of make them impregnable at home.


Medeama in their last five, lost once painfully to defiant up table side Elmina Sharks by two goals to one. Not looking back from then, racked up three elevating victories and were only held on the road by a struggling King Faisal.


Away from home, the Tarkwa-based heavy weights are not invincible. They’ve lost twice, drew thrice and runout winners on only two occasions.


On head-to-head, in their last five meetings in the Ghana Premier League Legon Cities won a staggering four of those five while their guest won just one of those. Legon Cities never lost at home playing Medeama in the Ghana Premier League in seven fixtures.

In their latest fixture in August 2017, Legon Cities scare-mongered Medeama by three unanswered goals.
