Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has advocated for strategic improvements to Ghana’s systems rather than a complete overhaul.

During a media engagement in Accra on Sunday, Dr. Bawumia stressed that Ghana’s progress hinges on targeted upgrades to existing structures, rather than starting from scratch.

This approach stands in contrast to the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) call for a “reset” of the country’s systems.

At the launch of the NDC manifesto at the University of Education, Winneba, in the Central Region, the party’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, argued that Ghana requires a fundamental reset.

In response, Dr. Bawumia stated, “Ghana needs an upgrade, not a reset,” emphasizing the importance of building on the country’s current achievements.

He highlighted advancements in digitalisation, infrastructure, and education as key areas where further enhancements could drive continued development.
