In a significant step towards enhancing security and counter-terrorism in the West African region, Ghana will host the 2nd International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEC) from August 28 to 29, 2024.
Organized by the Ghana Armed Forces, the event will convene over 600 international and regional defence delegates, establishing it as a key meeting point for security professionals and stakeholders from across Africa and beyond.

At a media briefing prior to the conference, Brigadier General Salifu, Chairman of the IDEC 2024 Organizing Committee, highlighted the event’s role in strengthening regional security cooperation.
He emphasized that IDEC 2024 is a vital component of Ghana’s ongoing efforts to fortify security measures and address the escalating threat of terrorism in the subregion.
“IDEC 2024 offers an essential platform for defence and security leaders to exchange insights and develop collaborative strategies to tackle Africa’s urgent security challenges, particularly those related to terrorism,” Brig. Gen. Salifu said.”
IDEC 2024 will take place in Accra and will feature a two-day conference and exhibition.

The event will draw a diverse array of participants, including land forces, national security agencies, defence and interior ministries, law enforcement agencies, special forces, and other key global stakeholders.
