Ebenezer Annan, a 21-year-old Ghanaian defender, has officially joined Red Star Belgrade on a three-year deal, marking a significant milestone in his career.

Annan’s contract with Bologna was set to expire on June 30, and he joins the Serbian champions on a free transfer, bringing an end to his stint in Italy.

After being unveiled on Tuesday, Annan expressed his enthusiasm to make a significant impact at Red Star Belgrade, stating that he is “eager to contribute to the team’s success.”

Annan praised the quality of the Superliga, noting that it is “very high-quality” and expressing his excitement to continue playing in Serbia.

His move to Red Star Belgrade follows Osman Bukari’s departure to Austin FC, and he is expected to fill the void left by Bukari.

Annan has shown significant improvement in his game over the past year, earning multiple call-ups to the Black Stars.

He made his Ghana debut against Nigeria in March and also featured against Uganda in international friendlies.

Although he wasn’t invited for the recent World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic, Annan appears to remain part of Otto Addo’s plans for the national team.

Annan’s transfer to Red Star Belgrade is a testament to his hard work and dedication, and he is expected to be a valuable asset to the team.

With his experience in the Superliga and his international appearances, Annan is poised to make a significant impact in the upcoming season.
