President Akufo-Addo has entrusted Nana Asante Bediatuo, his trusted Executive Secretary since 2017, with a new diplomatic assignment as Ghana’s Ambassador-at-Large.
This appointment, announced on June 26, 2024, at the Jubilee House, marks a significant milestone in Bediatuo’s career.
Alongside Bediatuo, eight other diplomats received their appointment letters, including three High Commissioners and five Ambassadors.

He urged them to foster strong relationships with their host countries, attract investments, and champion Ghana’s interests.
The President acknowledged the significance of their appointments, given the current global landscape and Ghana’s development trajectory.
The newly appointed diplomats will serve in various countries, including Nigeria, South Africa, Rwanda, Türkiye, Belgium, Morocco, Norway, Ethiopia, and the African Union.
As Ambassador-at-Large, Bediatuo will undertake special missions, although the specifics of his responsibilities and whether he will continue as Executive Secretary remain unclear.
This development marks a new chapter in Ghana’s diplomatic relations, and the appointed envoys are expected to make significant contributions to the country’s global standing.
