A high-level government delegation visited the Yagbonwura’s palace to request the removal of the ban on Samuel Abu Jinapor, MP for Damongo and Minister of Lands and Natural Resources.

The delegation, led by Defense Minister Dominic Nitiwul, also included Chieftaincy Minister Stephen Asamoah Boateng and the Savannah Regional Minister.

Earlier, members of the National House of Chiefs and the Council of State also visited the Jakpa Palace.

Sources at the Jakpa Palace informed 3news.com that the Yagbonwura requested the delegation to return at a later time.

“Yagbonwura told the delegation he will be traveling to the Mamprugu Kingdom on Sunday in yet another historic visit and also he said he will have to meet them with his paramount chiefs and so they should go and come later,” the sources said.

On Sunday, July 21, 2024, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Soale Jewi, the King of the Gonja Kingdom, imposed a ban on Samuel Abu Jinapor, barring him from entering any palace in Gonjaland. This action was taken due to accusations of insubordination, disrespect, and misuse of government authority.

Although the Damongo MP initially dismissed the ban as false, he later referred to the Yagbonwura as a grandfather and father in a video circulating on social media.
