Golden Shuttlers receive heroic welcome after badminton championship triumph

Ghana’s U-19 Junior National Badminton team, known as the Golden Shuttlers, was warmly welcomed at Kotoka International Airport on Friday evening following their impressive victory at the 2024 All Africa Youth Badminton Championship in Senegal.

The team clinched three gold medals and one bronze, underscoring their dominance at the event.

They secured gold by defeating Benin with a 60-50 aggregate score in the mixed team event, while the men’s and women’s teams won against South Africa and Algeria, respectively.

Badminton President Yeboah Evans commended the team for their outstanding performance, highlighting its significance for the growth of the sport in Ghana.

Coach Moses Adu and Deputy Captain Moslena Ama Korama Adu expressed their pride in the team’s achievements and their commitment to continued success, with eyes set on the upcoming World Championships.
