The government has reached an agreement with the Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) regarding their conditions of service, aiming to end their strike.

CETAG began the strike on June 14 due to the government’s failure to implement an arbitral award from the National Labour Commission.
Despite a directive from GTEC, the teachers continued their strike, demanding the implementation of the award.
However, in a recent media interview, Minister of Employment and Labour Relations Ignatius Baffour Awuah confirmed that negotiations have now been completed.
“We have concluded the discussion with them. I have actually negotiated and signed on to it. I have signed my portion and all my colleagues who are supposed to sign have signed.
In their case, their leadership have also signed. So, what is needed is for them to have their national council meeting and also take a decision.”
