Geoffery Kabutey Ocansey, Executive Director of Revenue Mobilisation Africa,

has criticized the Akufo-Addo government for its handling of the intermittent power supply, popularly known as dumsor.

In an interview on Citi TV’s Breakfast Daily show on April 21, 202 Hospitale, Kabutey Ocansey expressed frustration that the government seems unaware of when the power outages will occur, making it difficult to create a timetable.

He drew a comparison with the previous government led by John Dramani Mahama, which was labeled incompetent by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Despite this, Mahama’s government was able to establish a schedule for the power outages, allowing Ghanaians to plan their lives. In contrast, the current government appears clueless.

Kabutey Ocansey’s remarks were in response to Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku, a former NPP flagbearer hopeful and energy policy expert, who claimed that creating a timetable for the power cuts was challenging.

Kabutey Ocansey was astonished by Poku’s statement, labeling it as “arrogance deeply planted in ignorance.”

He questioned how those who claimed to be experts in energy policy could struggle to create a simple timetable, when the supposedly “incompetent” previous government was able to do so.
