GPL: Ashantigold C.E.O Fredrick Acheampong resigns

Fredrick Acheampong has tendered in his resignation as Chief Executive Officer of Ashantigold. 

The affable football administrator will end his relationship with the club at the end of the April.

The Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association spent two years as C.E.O of the club and supervised their journey in the CAF Confederations Cup.

The reasons for his resignation is yet to be known, but Fredrick Acheampong thanked the club for the opportunity, labelling his journey with the miners as the end of a ‘golden era’.

“End of a golden road. I have tendered in my resignation as C.E.O. of Ashantigold effective 30th April 2020,” he posted on Twitter.

“I have grown and learnt immensely at the club but it’s time to move on for personal reasons. Thanks Champion, the club and supporters for the opportunity,” he added.

The Miners finished the first round of the Ghana Premier League in fifth position.
