The newly-appointed Commissioner of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Brigadier General Zimbrim Bawah Ayarroga, has issued a stern warning to staff engaging in corrupt activities, stating that those caught will face severe consequences.

During a media forum in Sunyani on October 24, following a three-day working tour of the Bono, Bono East, and Ahafo Regions, Brigadier General Ayarroga highlighted the GRA’s commitment to enhancing its image and maximizing revenue collection.

He urged the media to assist by exposing GRA officers involved in corrupt practices, providing evidence to support disciplinary actions.

He emphasized that tax revenue is crucial for national development and encouraged his staff to adhere to established procedures to ensure that traders and businesses fulfill their tax obligations.

Addressing concerns raised by the media, he reiterated that capacity building, discipline, and professionalism are essential components of ongoing improvements within the service.
