The Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG), have appealed to the Government to take immediate action to resolve the concerns raised by the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG), and the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG) so that they could resume work.
Members of the UTAG and Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG) have been on strike about a week now over the poor condition of schools, which caused them to bring all activities in all University campuses to a halt.
Due to the strike, the UTAG members are not lecturing, invigilating, marking examination scripts, not processing examination results.
They have refused to resume work until their concerns of condition of service are fully addressed by the Government.
GRASAG has urged Government to take immediate steps towards amicable settlement of the matter.
GRASAG in a statement said it is sad and disappointed that UTAG members and the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana give off their best to groom and train researchers and future lectures for the country’s intellectual community, only to be met with deaf ears when it comes to renumeration.
