In a surprising move, Charles Bissue, the NPP parliamentary candidate for Essikado-Ketan, has apologized on behalf of Prof. Grace Ayensu-Danquah, the NDC candidate, for her recent controversial comments.

Bissue emphasized the importance of politicians being mindful of their words, even in the heat of debate.

He described some of Prof. Ayensu-Danquah’s remarks during a radio discussion with Akosua Manu Kozie as “unpleasant” and apologized to Ghanaians on behalf of the people of Essikado-Ketan Constituency and the Western Region.

Bissue stressed that politicians must accept criticisms graciously and avoid resorting to insults during political shows.

He noted that critiques are an essential part of the refining process and must be accommodated. “We need to guard against these insults. It is not Ghanaian!” he emphasized.

This apology comes after a group called Concerned Women of Essikado-Ketan Constituency demanded an apology from Prof. Ayensu-Danquah for her comments, which they deemed “immature, infantile, and unwholesome.”

The group felt her remarks tarnished the reputation of Ghanaian women. During a radio discussion on Asempa FM, Prof. Ayensu-Danquah made comments that sparked outrage, including a statement that those who didn’t understand the 24-hour economy policy proposal had a problem with their brains.

The group found this offensive and disrespectful to womanhood, demanding a retraction and apology.

However, Prof. Ayensu-Danquah has yet to publicly apologize for her comments, which have triggered public fury.
