Kennedy Agyapong,Member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency,has been urged to break away from the ruling New Patriotic Party ahead of the 2024 general elections.
A Volunteer group for Hon Ken Agyapong known as the Ashanti Regional Volunteer Groups has called on the lawmaker to take the bold step, as he is the only one who can take this country out of the ditch created by the Akufo-Addo government.
According to the chairman of the group, Gabriel Amankwaa who made the call on behalf of its members that despite Kennedy Agyapong losing the NPP flag-bearer elections to Dr. Bawumia, their survey suggests that the lawmaker is still the preferred choice of Ghanaians in general.
“We still maintain that Kennedy Agyapong is still the man who should lead this country as president. We want him to take the bold step and save this country because everything shows that he is the right person for the job,” Amankwaa said
Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong and all the other aspirants who contested the NPP November 4, 2023, elections signed an agreement not to break away from the party regardless of the outcome of the elections. However Supporters of Ken Agyapong awaits his decision and comments.
