On the evening of Sunday, September 22, 2024, Hassan Ayariga, the Presidential Candidate of the All People’s Congress (APC), launched his manifesto, outlining his vision for Ghana and why Ghanaians should elect him on December 7, 2024.

Titled The Nation’s Manifesto, it is anchored on the theme “Transforming Ghana and Restoring Hope.” The launch took place at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Auditorium.

Ayariga is the latest presidential candidate to unveil his manifesto after being officially cleared by the Electoral Commission (EC) alongside 12 other candidates to contest in the 2024 presidential election.

The APC claimed ownership of the much-discussed “24-hour economy” initiative, stating that it was originally introduced by Ayariga as far back as 2016, and not by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to APC’s vice-presidential candidate, Samuel Worlanyo Mensah, “The 24-hour economy was introduced by Hassan Ayariga in 2016 and again in 2024. It is not for the NDC; it is a stolen manifesto policy.”

The APC also criticized the government’s “Gold for Oil” initiative, labeling it a “scam” and a “fraudulent” policy benefiting only a select few while the general public suffers from high fuel prices. The party vowed to cancel the policy if elected into power.

During his address, Hassan Ayariga pledged to establish a minimum salary of GH¢5,000 should he win the 2024 election.

He also promised to implement a bi-weekly salary system, ensuring that workers are paid every two weeks instead of monthly.

Additionally, he proposed raising the minimum wage from GH¢18 to between GH¢150 and GH¢300, emphasizing that current wages are insufficient to meet basic needs.
