The High Court in Accra, on Thursday, October 31, 2024, dismissed an injunction application filed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Joana Gyan Cudjoe.

This application sought to prevent the Electoral Commission from printing ballot papers and issuing a notice of poll for the Amenfi Central Constituency.
The NDC filed this case in response to the Electoral Commission’s refusal to recognize Joana Gyan Cudjoe as the legitimate NDC parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central, despite a previous High Court order from Sekondi on May 31, 2024, affirming her candidacy.
The Accra High Court upheld the Electoral Commission’s stance, citing that its actions were in compliance with the Sekondi High Court’s pending orders.
The court further noted that any alternative decision would contradict these orders.
