Alhaji Hudu Mogtari, a former National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary aspirant for the Wa Central Constituency, joined the current parliamentary candidate and MP, Dr. Rashid Pelpuo, former GETFund Administrator Sam Garba, and other party figures in an energetic retail campaign in Charia.

With just three days remaining before the pivotal presidential and parliamentary elections, the team urged constituents to back John Dramani Mahama for president and Dr. Pelpuo for re-election as Member of Parliament.
During their campaign, the group criticized the current administration’s failures and highlighted the development under former President Mahama’s leadership.
They called on voters to give Mahama a parliamentary majority by electing Dr. Pelpuo, emphasizing the need for unified leadership to push the party’s agenda forward.
Speaking at a mini-rally in Charia, Alhaji Hudu Mogtari made a passionate appeal to constituents, urging them to honor their commitment to Mahama and Pelpuo, while reminding them of promises made during Mahama’s recent visit to the community.
“We are here to remind you of your pledge to John Dramani Mahama when he visited this community about two months ago,” Alhaji Mogtari said.
“You assured him of your support, and we are here to reignite that promise. The days are close, and it is critical to deliver a resounding victory for both John Mahama and Dr. Rashid Pelpuo.”
Alhaji Mogtari further echoed Mahama’s earlier call to avoid “skirt-and-blouse” voting, which involves splitting votes between presidential and parliamentary candidates of different parties.
He stressed the importance of electing Dr. Pelpuo to ensure effective representation in Parliament and to bolster Mahama’s government.
“John Mahama and all of us need Dr. Rashid Pelpuo in Parliament to drive our developmental agenda. Let’s deliver a united victory,” he added.
This is one of several platforms where Alhaji Mogtari has openly endorsed Dr. Pelpuo, dispelling rumours of discord between the two following the 2023 parliamentary primaries.
Their united front underscores the NDC’s commitment to securing a decisive win in the Wa Central Constituency.
Charia remains a key battleground within the constituency, with both the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) intensifying efforts to win over the influential community.
The NDC’s latest engagement is part of a broader strategy to consolidate support and secure a majority of votes in the upcoming elections.
Alhaji Mogtari and other NDC leaders are expected to continue their campaign activities, reinforcing the party’s message and energising supporters across the constituency in the critical days ahead.
