The Coalition of Hygiene Students Ghana has threatened to boycott the upcoming December 7 general elections in response to unresolved challenges faced by interns and National Service personnel.
The group had submitted a petition to the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, outlining these concerns, but has yet to receive a response.
In an interview with Citi News, the association’s organizer, Edmund Asare, expressed frustration over the authorities’ inaction despite repeated attempts to address the issues. The coalition has called for swift resolution, warning that their stance reflects widespread discontent among its members.

“So far, we have not heard from any of the executives over there, maybe the director or any other person. But they are saying that the minister is not around. So she has gone to her constituency to do her campaign, neglecting our petition for now. So we don’t know what to do.
“We are stranded, and come this Saturday, there will be an election. So we have decided that we, the environmental health graduates and the continuing students, are not going to vote. Even if we are going to vote, we will vote against the ruling party as of now.”
