Asamoah Gyan has announced his decision to step away from active politics and focus on independently contributing to humanitarian efforts and supporting the youth.

Previously affiliated with the New Patriotic Party, Gyan was appointed as a sub-committee chairman for Sports by the aspiring presidential candidate and Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
Although he was seen at Dr. Bawumia’s campaign launch earlier this year, Gyan has stated on X that he will no longer represent any political party, choosing instead to concentrate on helping Ghana’s youth.
“I haven’t been fair to the youth and the people of Ghana. Hence forth I am not affiliated to any political party. I will continue with my humanitarian work and help the youth of Ghana in my own small way. Nothing political. I wish all the political parties a peaceful election on the 7th December elections. God bless our homeland Ghana. Thank you,” Gyan posted on X
