Veteran actress Harriet Naa Akleh Okantey, widely known as Auntie Bee from Efiewura, has revealed that despite her decades-long career, she has no property or notable achievements to her name.

In an interview, she shared that her passion for acting kept her so dedicated to her craft that she didn’t pursue other trades.
Auntie Bee also mentioned that she chose not to have children at one point in her career, believing they might distract her from her work.
Speaking in an interview on Accra FM on July 24, Auntie Bee shared that she was so fully occupied with set life that she didn’t have the opportunity to learn a trade or other skills—a decision she now regrets in her later years.
She revealed that despite over twenty years in the industry, she hasn’t been able to acquire any property and can only boast of fame.
Feeling the weight of never having learned a trade or gained anything significant outside of her acting career, she now truly understands the saying, “time waits for no man.”
“I had the passion for acting since childhood because I loved acting so I did not learn any trade. Even due to that, it didn’t make me concentrate on bearing children. I enjoyed acting.
“I have come to realized many things now and if I had the chance to be young again, I would learn about ten trades. I will involve myself in many things.
“At first there was not enough money in the industry but now that the industry is booming, we are out of the industry. A lot of actors and actresses have not gained anything from the industry.
“I have only fame. Acting didn’t allow me to marry, it didn’t allow me to do anything for myself. The car I use now was given to me by a pastor, I didn’t acquire any property from acting,” she explained.
She further mentioned that she has now resorted to selling menial items for survival since Kumawood has declined.
“I have suppliers who bring me liquid soap, bathing soaps, power zones and others which I sell but if I have not been supplied with anything, God is my helper,” she added.
