Conrad Dumbah, Chairman of the NDC-UK & Ireland Chapter, has expressed his hopes for effective governance under President John Dramani Mahama, underscoring the importance of addressing the critical needs of Ghanaians across the country.
During an appearance on the Point Blank segment of Eyewitness News on January 10, 2025, Mr. Dumbah stressed the need to tackle essential issues such as access to clean water, roads, and electricity to improve living conditions and promote economic development.

He defined his expectation of “good governance” as a commitment to serving the people and meeting their needs, emphasizing both the “what” and the “how” of governance.
Mr. Dumbah further highlighted the urgent need for enhanced road infrastructure, describing the current state of roads as dangerous and unacceptable. He also advocated for expanded electricity access to support the government’s 24-hour economy policy.
“What is good governance? It is making sure that all the villages we went through, and the needs of the people across the length and breadth of the country, are met. When my team from the UK came in to support me during the campaign, what we were hearing from the people was sometimes sad. Water, boreholes—how much does it cost to drill a borehole for a whole community?
“From Wa to Accra is a nightmare. Crossing from Bolga to Wa is a nightmare. Even from Accra going up north, it’s like a death trap. So, the road infrastructure must be improved, and also electricity, which is going to help us with the 24-hour economy,” he added.
Mr Dumbah reiterated that addressing these critical needs would reflect the administration’s commitment to good governance and the well-being of all Ghanaians.
