Ghanaian highlife artist, Bisa Kdei, has expressed disappointment with the Ghana Music Rights Organisation (GHAMRO) over the amount of royalties they offered him.

In an interview with Angel FM, Bisa Kdei revealed that GHAMRO called to offer him GHC500 as royalties for his popular songs “Mansa” and “Brother”. He found the amount unacceptable and instructed the representative not to contact him again.

This comes after fellow musician Fancy Gadam also expressed shock over receiving only GHC374 from GHAMRO. Fancy Gadam stated that receiving such a small amount proves that GHAMRO does not take the affairs of its members seriously, especially for veteran artists who depend on royalties.

Both artists are criticizing GHAMRO for the minimal amounts offered, with Bisa Kdei and Fancy Gadam being part of a growing backlash from musicians against GHAMRO over royalties.
