Ibrahim Adjei, former Assistant Secretary at the Office of former President Nana Akufo-Addo, has urged the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers and other entrepreneurs to harness the power of digital platforms to effectively communicate any reduction in prices to consumers.
He termed the Spare Parts Dealers Association’s decision to reduce prices as a step in the right direction, but emphasised the need for strategic communication.
“It is a welcome call, but it’s for the individuals at Abossey Okai to take heed. Those who are smart enough to lower their prices and communicate it well will benefit. What I want the Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers to do now is go to the social media space and say; I am selling this part at this price. Here is my location. Tag your location, so people can access you. If I trust you, I can simply send an Okada to pick up the item and pay you the payment.”
He further urged all entrepreneurs to leverage digital tools to market their offerings and highlight any price advantages they provide to consumers to enable swift sales.
“Use the digital space to outdo your competitors. When you communicate your reductions clearly and offer convenience, you will see more patronage,” he advised.
The Abossey Okai Spare Parts Dealers Association on May 18 announced a reduction in spare parts prices in the Greater Accra Region.
This move comes in response to the appreciation of the Ghana cedi against the US dollar under the new administration led by President John Dramani Mahama.
The Association explained that the price cut is aimed at offering relief to customers and supporting the government’s broader efforts to stabilise the economy.
