Ibrahim Saanie Daara, a former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association, has expressed that the administration under Okraku has performed exceptionally well. Consequently, he believes they deserve another four-year term. Kurt Okraku, who took office as the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in October 2019, is nearing the end of his current term, which concludes in October of this year.

The election committee has officially declared that the 2023 GFA elections will involve a competition between the incumbent Kurt Okraku and George Afriyie. For this year’s GFA Presidential election, Okraku, the current GFA President, will be vying for the position against George Afriyie, the former vice President of the GFA, who submitted his nomination.

In a conversation with citisports, Saanie voiced his support for Kurt Okraku, firmly believing that Okraku is the suitable candidate to lead the Football Association.

“The big show of support here at the FA premises is a clear indication of what Okraku has done in the last four years to warrant such a support.

If he has not done enough, people will say it, you don’t owe people anything; they are free to do whatever they want to do. Things have been done in such a way that people have come to show their support to Kurt, it tells you they appreciate what Kurt has done”. He said.

“For me, it is not even about Kurt Okraku, let us look at it from a larger picture first of all, the entire West African Football Fraternity has endorsed him as their leader. Kurt is in charge of WAFU, so what does it tell you, the people of Ghana must unite behind and give him the necessary push to go forward” he added.

However, The Ghana Football Association elections will be held on Wednesday, 27th September 2023 at the Radach memorial hotel in Tamale
