Gospel icon Ohemaa Mercy has offered valuable advice to young and aspiring gospel ministers.

With over a decade of experience in the gospel ministry, she urged up-and-coming gospel artists not to imitate the styles of others.

She emphasized that gospel ministry is a divine calling from Jehovah, and it’s crucial for ministers to carefully discern their unique calling and follow the path that aligns with their ministry.

“You need to have a spirit of discernment to know who is in to help you and who is in to destroy you

“For me, I have had a lot of experience when it comes to people that come around and at the end they turn into enemies.

“Are you called? This is a big ministry that you need to understand why you are called. You need to understand and know where God has positioned you to move with it and not copy from other people,” she said on 3FM Sunrise on Friday, August 16.

Ohemaa Mercy has hinted at plans to organize a program this December aimed at inspiring young and emerging gospel artists in understanding their calling and the essence of gospel ministry.

Her flagship worship concert, TEHILLAH Experience, is scheduled for September 8, 2024, at the Oil Dome, Royal House Chapel International in Accra.

Since its inception in 2013, this worship event, spearheaded by Ohemaa Mercy, has been a leading force in providing a spiritually uplifting experience.

This year’s theme is Tehillah the Bethel Experience.

The event will feature Nigerian gospel stars Ebuka Songs and Abbey Ojomu, who will bring their vibrant ministries to the stage.

They will be joined by renowned Ghanaian gospel icons, including MOGmusic, Nacee, Piesie Esther, Ceccy Twum, Mama Esther, Kofi Owusu Peprah, and Rama Antwi, all of whom are expected to deliver powerful performances that will elevate the worship experience.
