The Institute for Energy Security (IES) has urged the government to undertake comprehensive consultations with all relevant stakeholders concerning the proposed merger of the Volta River Authority (VRA) and other energy sector entities.

IES stressed the importance of involving VRA staff, industry experts, and other key participants to ensure that the proposed changes are fully examined and understood by all involved.
The institute believes that thorough and transparent dialogue will help avoid potential issues and ensure that the nation’s best interests are upheld.
“We urge the government to conduct extensive engagement with all relevant stakeholders, including VRA staff, and industry experts, to ensure that the proposed changes are thoroughly vetted and understood by all parties.”
“Transparent dialogue is essential to avoid potential pitfalls that could harm the sector, but rather ensure that the best interests of the nation are prioritised,” Nana Amoasi VII, Executive Director of IES noted in a statement signed and issued on Sunday.
