The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, along with the Police Management Board, visited churches on Sunday, November 24, to encourage peace in the lead-up to the December 7 elections.

Speaking at the Church of Pentecost in Accra New Town, Dr. Dampare urged the congregation to pray for peace, stressing that their prayers should be accompanied by tangible action.

He appealed to Ghanaians to support the police in maintaining security, law, and order, ensuring that the 2024 general elections are the most peaceful in the country’s history.

“We should remember that prayer alone will not bring the miracle… Prayer requires action, and it is only when prayer and action in relation to the prayer is in place that prayer is answered.

“…Now that we pray, we should allow ourselves as vessels that God will use to bring peace, security, law, and order during this election period and beyond… Continue to pray for us… Also make sure you don’t become a source of disturbances to this country…The people around you encourage them not to be used to cause disturbances,” he stated.
