The Inspector General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has reapportioned 84 senior police officers across the country, with some sent out of the Police Headquarters to outstations.

Superintendent Emmanuel Eric Gyebi and Superintendent George Lysander Asare, have been sent to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters and the Judicial Protection Unit, respectively.

The two officers were enmesh in the controversial leaked tape that detailed a plot to get rid of Police, Dr George Akuffo Dampare.

In sequence, they’ve appeared before the parliamentary committee that probed the controversy to answer questions about their professionalism vis-à-vis the Ghana Police Service regulations.

The committee recommended that the officers be made to face disciplinary action.
In the interim, COP George Alex Mensah, who became central in the controversy, has since retired from the Police Service and recently urged Mr. Yohuno to address unfair promotions within the Service.
