James Gyakye Quayson, the Member of Parliament for Assin North, is optimistic that the people of Assin North will renew his mandate in the 2024 election.

Quayson, who faced a court case in 2020 challenging his eligibility due to holding dual citizenship with Canada, contested a by-election to regain his seat.
Despite these challenges, he has been involved in several developmental projects to benefit the people of Assin North.
After a visit from Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, the NDC’s running mate, Quayson described the by-election as a clear choice between justice and development, expressing hope that his work and commitment will lead to his re-election.
“If you have a moment go and do a survey and ask the people of Assin North whether Gyakye Quayson is going to win or not.
“Assin North is going renew my mandate because they appreciate the work I am doing and I also appreciate the dignity and respect and being resilient and fighting for them. They know that I will never leave them behind,” he stated.
