The IMANI Center for Policy and Education has invited the flagbearers of the two main political parties in Ghana, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), to a debate ahead of the 2024 general elections.

The debate will also feature the National Chairmen and General Secretaries of both parties.
While John Dramani Mahama’s office has responded tentatively, IMANI is still awaiting a response from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s team.
The debate aims to provide a platform for the political parties to present their policies and vision to the electorate, promote transparency, and engage with voters in a meaningful way.
IMANI believes that a national debate is crucial in fostering informed public discourse and democratic engagement, and providing an opportunity for political parties to articulate their positions on key issues.
The forthcoming elections mark a pivotal moment in Ghana’s democratic journey, and IMANI is committed to promoting substantive dialogue and engagement.
The debate is scheduled to take place soon, and the details of the event, including the date and venue, will be communicated to the parties and the public in due course.
IMANI’s initiative aims to contribute to a more informed and engaged electorate, and to promote a peaceful and credible electoral process in Ghana.
