Athletic Bilbao striker Inaki Williams will rejoin the Ghana national team as they prepare to start their qualification campaign for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The 23-man squad will face Angola on Thursday, September 5, 2024, before traveling to Morocco to play against Niger on Monday, September 9, 2024.
Williams, who missed Ghana’s previous fixtures against Mali and the Central African Republic in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers due to recovery from foot surgery, will return to action.
Despite his impressive performances in La Liga, Williams has struggled to make a significant impact for the Black Stars, scoring just once in 17 appearances since his debut in 2022.
This call-up presents Williams with a chance to impress coach Otto Addo, known for his decisive selections.

Also returning to the squad are Majeed Ashimeru and Joseph Paintsil, while Ghana captain Andre Ayew remains sidelined.
In Ayew’s absence, Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey will serve as captain.
Ernest Nuamah is missing due to a recent injury sustained during Lyon’s match against Monaco in Ligue 1.
Forson Amankwah is also absent after picking up a knock in Norwich’s EFL Cup match against Crystal Palace.
Osman Bukari is not included, with Joseph Paintsil rejoining the team.
