Nana Kwame Bediako, founder and leader of The New Force, has emphasized that Ghana cannot realize a 24-hour economy without a robust focus on industrialization.

At the New Force Key Policy Launch on Sunday, September 1, Bediako, widely known as Cheddar, criticized the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for advocating a 24-hour economy policy without first establishing the necessary factories and production facilities.
He contended that the policy would be ineffective without the proper infrastructure to support it.
“A machine or plant is essential for creating jobs in three shifts—eight hours each, totaling a 24-hour economy,” Bediako explained.
He stressed that industrialization is crucial for sustaining a round-the-clock economy, which cannot be achieved merely by extending working hours for traditional market vendors.
“No one sells gari for 24 hours in Makola. The vendors in Kejetia and Kantamanto can’t work around the clock. We need factories, plants, and production lines to enable three shifts a day. Without industrialization, there can be no 24-hour economy,” he asserted.
