Inter Miami head coach Gerardo “Tata” Martino is set to leave the club due to “personal reasons,” as confirmed by a club source on Tuesday.
Martino, who took charge of the team in June 2024, led Inter Miami to a standout season, winning the Leagues Cup, a prestigious tournament between MLS and Liga MX teams in his first year.

Under his leadership, the team also claimed the Supporters’ Shield for having the best overall regular season record, earning them a spot in the 2025 Club World Cup.
Despite these triumphs, Martino’s tenure ended with a surprise early exit in the first round of the MLS Cup playoffs, where Miami was defeated by his former club, Atlanta United, in a shock upset.
The source did not disclose further details about the personal reasons prompting Martino’s decision to leave before the end of his contract.
Martino will address the media in a press conference on Friday, alongside club co-owner Jorge Mas and President of Football Operations Raul Sanllehí, to discuss his departure.
Known for his success with both club and country, Martino’s coaching career includes stints with Barcelona, the Argentina national team, and Atlanta United, where he led the team to an MLS Cup victory in 2018.
