Interior Minister Henry Quartey has renewed the curfew hours for Bomaa Township and surrounding areas in the Ahafo Region through an Executive Instrument.

The curfew will be in effect from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am, starting Tuesday, July 30, 2024.
Additionally, there is now a complete ban on carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons in Bomaa Township and its environs.
In a statement, the government urged “chiefs, elders, opinion leaders, youth, and residents to remain calm in the face of current challenges and to focus on peaceful, non-violent ways to promote harmony in the area.”
“Meanwhile, there is a total ban on all persons in the Bomaa Township and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon, and any person found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.”
