The Minister for the Interior, Henry Quartey, has implemented a curfew in Sampa Township, located in the Jaman North District of the Bono Region, through an Executive Instrument.

The curfew will be in effect from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM daily, starting Thursday, October 24, 2024, and will remain until further notice, according to a statement from the Interior Ministry.
Quartey made this decision based on the recommendations of the Bono Regional Security Council due to ongoing chieftaincy disputes in the area.
The government is urging local chiefs, opinion leaders, and residents to exercise restraint amid these challenges and to seek peaceful, non-violent resolutions to their grievances.

Additionally, there is a complete ban on carrying arms, ammunition, or any offensive weapons within Sampa Township. Individuals found in possession of such items will face arrest and prosecution.
