Rodney Nkrumah Boateng, Press Secretary to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO), staunchly defended his boss’s reputation following criticism over a casual remark regarding the ‘Dumsor’ timetable.

NAPO faced backlash for suggesting during an interview that those seeking a load-shedding schedule could create their own.

In an interview on The Point of View with Bernard Avle on Channel One TV, Rodney Nkrumah Boateng argued that NAPO’s qualifications and capabilities, especially as a potential running mate for Dr. Bawumia, should not be judged based solely on one media interaction.

He emphasized that NAPO’s expertise extends far beyond that moment.

While acknowledging the frustration caused by power outages, Mr. Nkrumah Boateng assured that steps have been taken to mitigate ‘Dumsor’ and ensure stable electricity supply.

He pointed out that current outages are less severe and less frequent compared to the challenges faced during the Mahama administration, highlighting progress made in addressing the issue.

“Recent circumstances are incomparable to those of 2014 or 2015,” he noted.

“It’s crucial to focus on the actions being taken and the timelines for resolving these issues rather than defining NAPO by one interview or statement. It’s unfair to judge him solely on”

“We’ve moved beyond those challenges and are looking ahead to what lies ahead.” He said.
