Veteran Nigerian actress Dakore Egbuson-Akande has strongly denied allegations of an affair with Nigeria’s Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
The rumors were spread by a well-known Nigerian blogger, Gistlover, who claimed that the actress, along with several other women, was involved in a romantic relationship with the politician.
In response to the allegations, Dakore described the rumors as a “wicked lie from the pit of hell” and cautioned that her hard-earned reputation should not be exploited for clickbait.
Dakore expressed her disappointment and shock over the rumors spreading on social media, asserting that she has never met the politician.
In a video posted on her Instagram page, she declared, “I want to categorically state that I have never met the Senate President. I have not had any reason to see him or be in the same room, let alone be his side chick.”
Egbuson-Akande also announced her intention to pursue legal action and emphasized that she will not stay silent about the matter. She reminded both her fans and her accusers that she is a happily married woman with two children, and asserted that the rumors are intended to damage her hard-earned reputation.
Furthermore, Dakore challenged anyone with evidence of her alleged affair with the politician to present it, offering a reward of 5 million naira for credible proof.
