As the Director-General of the State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA), John Boadu has expressed his warmest congratulations to Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh on his selection as the running mate to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for the NPP’s ticket in the upcoming December 7, 2024 elections.
At a time when Ghana and the global community are facing significant economic challenges, including high inflation rates, currency depreciation, fiscal deficits, debt levels, and unemployment, Boadu noted that Dr. Opoku Prempeh’s selection is a testament to the trust and expectations vested in him.

Boadu, a former General Secretary of the NPP, highlighted that Ghana requires pragmatic solutions to tackle these economic issues, similar to the recent leadership changes in countries like the UK, Kenya, and South Africa.
He emphasized that Dr. Bawumia remains the only candidate with the economic expertise to address these pressing issues.
To overcome these challenges, Boadu outlined the need for fiscal consolidation, economic diversification, improving the business environment, and enhancing social protection.
He expressed his full support and best wishes for a successful campaign, hoping that Mr. Opoku Prempeh’s efforts will inspire and unite all Ghanaians towards a brighter and more prosperous future.
In a statement, Boadu emphasized the crucial role Dr. Opoku Prempeh will play in highlighting the key progress achieved by the government in various state entities, even amid challenging times.
He reaffirmed his belief that the NPP government is well-prepared to address these challenges and make Ghana a better place to live.
