The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has expressed concern over what he describes as partisan recruitment into the Electoral Commission (EC).

According to Mr Mahama, the recruitment of known NPP members to the EC ahead of the December polls is unacceptable and must be immediately halted.

Speaking at a meeting with some Christian leaders in Accra, John Mahama stated that the NDC will strongly oppose such recruitments.

“And so people who have been communicators for the party, people who have been IT backstops for the party, how do you expect them to be neutral and fair? For instance, our last complaint was about the recruitment of returning officers.

“You heard Hopeson Adorye on radio say that they took NPP executives from Kumawu and brought them to the Ejisu by-election as returning officers. And there are pictures of some of them who are executives.”
