The Ghana Police Service and Armed Forces have initiated measures to restore order in Bawku and surrounding areas amid recent conflicts.
Both agencies have confirmed the deployment of personnel along the Bolgatanga-Walewale-Tamale highway and within Bawku to secure the area and manage traffic.
In their statement, the security forces assured the public of their dedication to maintaining peace, security, and law and order throughout Bawku and its environs.
The renewed violence, which tragically claimed two lives and left several injured, is linked to a long-standing chieftaincy conflict.
This latest escalation followed the return of Alhaji Seidu Abagre, a rival chief who recently had his arrest warrant lifted by a Kumasi High Court.
