Prof. Otchere Addai-Mensah, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), has been named Outstanding CEO of the Year 2024 at the CenBa Africa Business Excellence Awards.
The prestigious award, held in collaboration with the E4Impact Foundation, Italy, recognizes his exceptional contribution to enhancing quality healthcare at KATH, a leading referral hospital in Ghana.
Since his appointment in December 2022, Prof. Addai-Mensah’s transformative leadership has driven significant improvements in healthcare delivery at KATH.
He was presented with a citation, medal, and plaque as tokens of appreciation for his pivotal role in advancing healthcare in Ghana.
In his acceptance speech, Prof. Addai-Mensah thanked the hospital’s board, management, staff, and patients, crediting their collective effort for the achievement.
“This recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire KATH family as we continue to provide the highest standard of care and foster innovation in Ghana’s healthcare sector,” he said.
The award was presented by Mr. Stephen Fosu, CEO of CenBa Africa Business Excellence Awards, and Mr. Emmanuel Kofi Kwarteng, a board member of the awards and Registrar of Wisconsin International University College.
Mr. Kwarteng commended Prof. Addai-Mensah for his visionary leadership and the measurable impact he has made on healthcare outcomes in the country.
“The award serves as a testament to his visionary leadership and the ongoing transformation of KATH into one of the leading medical institutions in West Africa,” he said.
Since taking office, Prof. Addai-Mensah has spearheaded initiatives that have yielded remarkable improvements in healthcare delivery at KATH, earning widespread recognition.
The CenBa Africa Business Excellence Awards, accredited by the Independent Award Standards Council UK, celebrates individuals and organizations that make exceptional contributions to Africa’s business ecosystem.
This year’s award underscores Prof. Addai-Mensah’s pivotal role in enhancing healthcare standards and innovation in Ghana.
