Ken Attafuah steps down NIA as Executive Secretary

Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah, Executive Secretary of the National Identification Authority (NIA) and a Professor of Criminology, has stepped down from his role after seven years of service.

Attafuah played a key role in overseeing the registration and issuance of the Ghana Card, a milestone in Ghana’s national identification system.

In a circulated message from the NIA staff, confirmed by sources at the Authority’s headquarters, colleagues expressed their gratitude, saying, “The Management and entire Staff of NIA thank you and wish you well in the next phase of your life.”

The staff acknowledged Attafuah’s dedication and commended his leadership qualities, recognizing him as the ideal person to have led the NIA over the past years.

“You are undoubtedly the Best Man to have led the NIA these past seven years. Your diligence, integrity, transparency, extraordinary eloquence and dedication have served NIA and Mother Ghana well!” portions of the circular contained.
